ALTITUDE ANNOUNCES 2019-20 COLORADO AVALANCHE BROADCAST SCHEDULE

Coverage begins on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 6:30 p.m.

DENVER—Altitude announced today that it will broadcast 70 of 82 regular season games for the 2019-20 Colorado Avalanche season. Altitude’s coverage begins with two preseason games including Sept. 17, vs. the Vegas Golden Knights and Sept. 19, vs. the Dallas Stars. Regular season coverage begins Thursday, Oct. 3, at 6 p.m. as the Avalanche take on the Calgary Flames at Pepsi Center.

As things currently stand, Comcast (xfinity), DIRECTV and DISH Network subscribers will be unable to watch any 2019-20 Avalanche television broadcasts, as each have elected to drop Altitude Sports from their lineups after their contracts with Altitude Sports expired in August. While Altitude Sports has been negotiating throughout this entire process with the three former cable and satellite carriers, the Big Three continue to deny viewers the Altitude Sports programming they want to watch. “Altitude Sports has provided viewers with uninterrupted, award-winning coverage of their teams for the past 15 seasons,” said Kenny Miller, EVP & General Manager of Altitude Sports. “The Big Three is trying to stop that. Altitude Sports is the TV home network of the Nuggets and Avalanche, and Comcast (xfinity), DIRECTV, and DISH Network don’t seem to be concerned about viewers wishes. My hope is that we can return to our regular distribution as soon as possible in the basic tier format that our programming has always been received.”

New for this season before each Avalanche broadcast, Altitude will air two pregame shows. An hour before the game, Altitude will debut a new show called Avalanche Live!, which is a 30-minute unscripted live show that will be an open discussion about the Avalanche mixed in with interviews and fan involvement. That show will be followed by Avalanche Face-off, a 30-minute pregame show to get fans ready for the game with up-to-the-minute news, features, interviews and more right up to face-off.

Play-by-play announcer, Marc Moser will be joined by Peter McNab, who returns for his 24th season as analyst for the Avalanche and Moser in his 15th season with Altitude Sports. Lauren Jbara will join the broadcast team as the new rinkside reporter/host for the upcoming season. Kyle Keefe, Mark Rycroft and John-Michael Liles will host the pregame and postgame shows along with the intermission reports.

Additionally, Altitude will debut a new 30-minute show on Friday nights called, Avalanche 24/7. This weekly show will recap all the highlights from Altitude’s coverage of the Avalanche, including game recaps, interviews and more, including highlights and stories from around the NHL.

Conor McGahey will continue radio play-by-play duties, while Mark Bertagnolli will return as the studio host. Radio broadcasts of Avalanche games can be heard on Altitude Sports Radio 92.5, with select games airing on Altitude Sports Radio 950 AM.
