LAS VEGAS – Nuggets forward Mike Miller was in Las Vegas on Friday to take in the team’s summer league game against Houston, even as his own future with the team hangs in the balance.

The Nuggets have a decision to make by Wednesday on whether to guarantee the full final year of his contract at $3.5 million. Otherwise the team must waive him, making the veteran a free agent. Miller played in 20 games last season and continued to be a unifying influence in the locker room. He has been with the Nuggets in each of the last two seasons and has been a huge help in not only specialized circumstances on the court, but most notably in showing young players how to carry themselves professionally in the NBA.

His preference is to continue playing.

“I feel great. My body feels good,” he said. “It’s kind of one of those things that as long as I can keep helping these guys and they still want me around.”

Meanwhile, Miller has done the rounds on the media circuit, being a guest analyst on many ESPN shows early in the offseason.

“I really enjoyed it,” Miller said. “I did a thing with ESPN before the year even started last year and thought I was going to do some more stuff during the year. I enjoyed it. It was fun.”
